We Welcome Our Two Deacons!

We are welcoming 2 more Deacons to Dearborn County beginning June 26th- Deacon Mark Schmidl and Deacon Kevin Daily along with Deacon Bob Decker, who has been in the County since 2014 at All Saints Parish.  The Deacons, especially our newly ordained Dcn. Kevin and Dcn. Mark will assist at all four parishes "in solidum."  Please include these holy men in your prayers as they serve throughout the county.

The role of a deacon will be explained from the pulpit and in upcoming bulletin articles.  However, in a practical way, our deacons will be:

~performing all baptisms outside of Mass.

~performing all weddings outside of Mass.

~performing all funerals outside of Mass.

~performing all funeral rosaries/wakes.

~Assisting with baptismal prep (visiting and blessing homes) and marriage prep.

Fr. Mahan and Fr. Meyer will cease doing baptisms, weddings and funerals outside the context of Holy Mass.  Since we have Deacons, their work, service and worship will be used and appreciated!

Camera Technicians for Live Streaming Needed – All Three Parishes

We are in need of volunteers to help stream the daily and weekend Masses at all three parishes. If you can work a smart phone, you can run the camera - it’s that easy. Simply call the parish office 812-537-3992 to set up a simple training at your parish. This is a wonderful and easy opportunity to evangelize – please consider helping out.

Join Our Ministry: Breaking Bread - Saturday Mornings ~ 8am - 9am @St. Lawrence, Breaking Bread is our free community breakfast which we celebrate and enjoy every Saturday morning from 8-9 a.m. We usually have around 15 guests and 10 or so servers and we gather in the lower level of the church. We pray and eat together. We have conversations and laugh and cry together. It is short but very, very sweet. It soothes the soul and starts the weekend off with giving and sharing. Would you like to be part of this? We are in need of a few more servers and always welcome anyone who wants to attend, whether you cook and bring food or just come for community and a meal! Please contact Eileen Keller (812-655-3304 or for more information or to volunteer. If you would rather just show up to see what it is like, that is a great way to get started!

Military Appreciation Project (MAP)
All four Dearborn County Catholic Parishes are starting a new ministry to help our military members feel connected and appreciated by their parish. These men and women leave their home and community and are stationed all over the map. Michaela Spangler, a parish member of All Saints and Senior at EC, is starting MAP Ministry to send care packages for birthdays and holidays to the active duty military of our parishes as part of her Gold Award for Girl Scouts. We want our active military men and women to know that their home parish has not forgotten them, and that we appreciate their sacrifice and dedication to our country. There are three components to get this new ministry opportunity off the ground:1. If you have a son or daughter who is currently serving in the military, we would like to know so that we can include them. Please send an email to We are also accepting monetary donations to go towards this project. All donations can be sent to the Parish Office. Please specify that the donation is for MAP.3. Michaela is getting this ministry off the ground but new volunteers will be needed to continue it once she goes away to college. Please pray about getting involved and email if you would like to help continue her efforts.

Fr. Meyer joined Marc Tuttle and Kent Blandford on Indy Catholic Radio for a look at the ever changing role of men in parish and family life in anticipation of the E6 Catholic Men's Conference. Here is a link to the podcast.
