Thanks

The family of Mary Hope Miller wants to thank Fr. Steve and Brian Sawyer and all the members of the parish for their prayers, cards and donations.  We want to extend a special thanks to all the ladies and young people that served the meal.  It was deeply appreciated.

Thanks

The family of Lee Ann Stroud would like to express their sincere appreciation for all the cards, prayers, internet postings, visits and all other expressions of support during her illness.  Many times she commented that these were a tremendous source of strength for her as she battled her illness while at the same time accepting God’s plan for her.  Your thoughts and expressions of sympathy at this time are also very much appreciated.

St. Mary’s School

August 27th:  Open House (6:00 pm to 6:30pm) and PTO meeting (6:30 pm).

K of C

Thanks for your support of the annual Tootsie Roll Drive completed in July.  This year, over 30 volunteers from the Knights of Columbus and the Jennings Assn. for Retarded Citizens raised over $700 for J.A.R.C.

Thanks to the following locations for giving the opportunity to raise funds at their facility:  CVS, Firsich’s Meat Market, IGA, Jay C, Save-a-Lot, WalMart, St. Mary’s and St. Anne’s.

CHILDREN'S LITURGY OF THE WORD

Volunteers are needed for the CLOW program (which begins the weekend of September 13/14).
CLOW teachers are assigned to one mass each month.  They take the children from church to the Parish Center during the first 1/2 hour of mass.  The sessions include prayer, the Sunday readings, discussion/lesson, and an activity based on the readings.  All materials/information needed are provided.  Each mass needs 2-5 volunteers (teachers work together).  To volunteer or to get more information, please contact Connie Rayburn at the rectory (346-3604).  If you were a CLOW teacher last year, your name will be kept on the list unless you contact Connie to have your name removed from the volunteer list.

SMRE CATECHIST NEEDED

The Sunday Morning Religious Education program is in need of a catechist for the 5th/6th Grade Class.  The program begins Sunday, September 14th, and ends on April 19th.  There are 24 classes scheduled during this period, and they are held from 9:00 - 10:15 am.  To volunteer or to get more information, please contact Connie Rayburn at the rectory (346-3604).
